Realtek Successfully Develops Windows Vista Logo & CE Certified

HSINCHU, Taiwan – March 12, 2007 – Realtek Semiconductor Corp. (2379) today announced that it has successfully developed the RTS5151, an all-in-one card reader controller (CF/SM/SD/MMC/MS/xD/MD) with integrated 5V/3.3V regulator and power MOSFET. The RTS5151 is Windows Vista Logo and European CE certified.

Via the Windows Vista Logo program, Microsoft recognizes industry partners who have invested in delivering Windows Vista goals of a high user-friendly experience together with high-performance. Enhanced system performance is provided through support for the ReadyBoost function of Intel's next-generation Santa Rosa platform, which expands memory capacity through flash memory cards to make random reads faster than from traditional hard drives.
To ensure better compatibility and guarantee a satisfying out-of-the-box experience for users running Realtek card reader products with various memory cards, the RTS5151 is also USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) compliant, and passes Sony Memory Stick Pro and xD-Picture Card 1.2C testing.
The RTS5151 has been awarded European CE certification on a 2‑layer PCB, enabling a substantial reduction in system costs and providing a highly economic and competitive solution for card reader manufacturers. To achieve reduced EMI in crowded system environments, the RTS5151 integrates patented Spread Spectrum Clocking (SSC) technology.
